Space Coast Sailing Team

Have you ever sailed or would you like to? Join the Space Coast Sailing Team!

The Indian River Lagoon is a perfect place to sail for recreation or competition. The Space Coast Sailing Team is underway to provide opportunities for boys and girls to sail. There are opportunities for recreational sailing as well as competition. All participants must demonstrate adequate swimming skills and comfort in the water. The ability to right a capsized boat will be required.

We will begin with an organizational meeting at MYC on August 10 from 9-10 AM. There we will meet and introduce the new sailors and assess skill and experience to determine which level each will sail with.

Practice will begin on August 17 at EGYC. We are breaking out the BIC and 420 fleets into two levels. Level 1 (beginner) BIC and 420 fleets will sail simultaneously with separate coaching staffs on Saturday morning from 9-12.  Level 2 (more advanced) BIC and 420 fleets will sail on Saturday afternoons from 1-4. We plan to sail, weather permitting, each Saturday until late November or early December. Melbourne Yacht Club!
